The 40 km long HenneseeSchleife connects the SauerlandRadring on former railroad lines via the picturesque Wennetal valley down to the Ruhrtal valley, and follows the course of the Ruhr to the district town of Meschede.

The HenneseeSchleife of the SauerlandRadring joins the railroad stations in Meschede and Freienohl to the north and connects the SauerlandRadring with the very popular RuhrtalRadweg.

If you start the HenneseeSchleife in Meschede, you first cycle along the Ruhr to Wennemen and then via Berge, Eslohe and Erflinghausen to the Hennesee. The traffic-free side path takes you to the dam of the lake. You can climb the Hennedamm (on foot) via the Himmelstreppe, which is illuminated in the evening. The Hennesee offers cyclists the opportunity to take a refreshing dip on or in the lake, but a boat trip is also a great way to relax. This can also be used to shorten the route along the banks of the Hennesee.

The HenneseeSchleife is currently still signposted with the SauerlandRadring Nordschleife logo.
