Fröndenberg/Ruhr

The varied landscape, interesting sights and a diverse cultural program invite you to make a stop in the "city with a view". The chainsmith museum on the RuhrtalRadweg shows how the huge steel "binding means" were once made by hand.

Fröndenberg is charmingly situated between the Ruhr, fields and the wooded hills of the Haarstranges, about halfway along the RuhrtalRadweg. Here you can not only cycle well, but also find numerous opportunities to enjoy the beauty of nature and sweeping views - from hiking and horse riding to golfing. Of particular cultural and historical value are the over 800-year-old Stiftskirche with its important Marian altar and the only chainsmith museum in Germany. Fröndenberg also has a lot to offer culturally: Cabaret, concerts and readings make for a stimulating end to the evening. Particularly practical: just like the town center with its hotels and restaurants, many of these offers can be reached within a short distance from the RuhrtalRadweg. And if you want to treat your tired cycling muscles to something special, Fröndenberg also offers hotels with sauna and wellness facilities.

P.S. Fröndenberg is also an ideal starting point for day trips to the neighboring Hönnetal, Sauerland, Münsterland and Ruhrgebiet.
