Nestled between the Ruhr River, fields, and the wooded hills of the Haarstrang, Fröndenberg lies roughly halfway along the RuhrtalRadweg. Here, you can not only enjoy great cycling, but also find numerous opportunities to take in the beauty of nature and sweeping views—from hiking and horseback riding to golf. Of particular cultural and historical value are the over 800-year-old Stiftskirche with its significant altar dedicated to the Virgin Mary and Germany’s only chain-smithing museum. Fröndenberg also has plenty to offer culturally: cabaret, concerts, and readings invite you to enjoy a stimulating end to the evening. Particularly convenient: Just like the town center with its hotels and restaurants, many of these attractions are just a short distance from the RuhrtalRadweg.
