Since spring 2007, rangers have been assisting our cyclists on their tours.
Arnsberg Area
In the Hochsauerland district, in the Arnsberg area, rangers are on the RuhrtalRadweg to provide cyclists with advice and assistance. This support for cyclists is organized by Neue Arbeit Arnsberg.
The rangers are on the trail seven days a week by bike, attending to the needs of cyclists. They make a significant contribution to the well-being of visitors by providing directions when needed, performing small tasks, and ensuring that signage and trail conditions are in good order.
In addition to constantly monitoring the route, the rangers’ responsibilities include repairing and replacing damaged signs, trimming overgrown bushes, removing trash from the roadside, providing assistance with breakdowns, and offering initial information to cycling tourists. These services are very much appreciated by cyclists on the RuhrtalRadweg.

These diverse tasks can only be carried out with the right equipment. This includes not only bicycles, but also weatherproof clothing with a logo, a repair kit, a first-aid kit, pruning shears, trash bags, cleaning supplies, informational materials, panniers, and a cell phone. In Arnsberg, the pilot project has already secured key partners in Heinz Kettler GmbH & Co. KG and the bicycle retailer Wierleuker, who provided not only the bicycles but also the clothing for the rangers. For more information, visit www.kettler.net
Eastern to Central Ruhrgebiet
Ruhr Valley Rangers are also active in the Ruhrgebiet, patrolling the route between Hengsteysee in Hagen and Bochum-Dahlhausen on the RuhrtalRadweg daily.
