The Ruhr Valley, located on the southern edge of the Ruhrgebiet, is exceptionally well connected to the national and international highway network.
The starting and ending points of the RuhrtalRadweg—Winterberg in the Sauerland and Duisburg in the Ruhrgebiet—are easily accessible by car or RV.

Winterberg: via the A 44 (Dortmund–Kassel) and the A 46 (Arnsberg–Brilon) to the B 7 toward Meschede/Bestwig, then continue on the B 480 to Winterberg.
Duisburg: via the A 2 (Hanover – Oberhausen), A 3 (Frankfurt – Arnhem/NL), A 40 (Venlo/NL – Essen – Dortmund), and A 42 (Kamp-Lintfort – Dortmund) highways.

Parking options in …
Winterberg: Long-term parking is available at the large parking lot next to the Tourist Information Office (Am Kurpark 6). Free parking spaces are also available at the train station.
Duisburg: There is a parking garage at the east exit of the main train station and a parking lot at the main exit; both can be used for several days for a fee.

Parking spaces for RVs...
are available at both the starting and ending points as well as along the route. In Winterberg, the parking lots mentioned above may also be used by RVs.
