Arrive and start cycling! Enjoy our full-service package on this tour: We’ll arrange hotels and luggage transfer, and provide all the important information in your tour package. Along the entire 240-kilometer route, you’ll experience the unspoiled landscapes of the Sauerland and the vibrant Ruhr metropolis.

Day 1: Winterberg
Individual arrival and overnight stay

Day 2: Winterberg – Ostwig area (30 km)
The bike path begins at the source of the Ruhr. The ride takes you through the beautiful low-mountain landscape of the Sauerland.

Day 3: Ostwig area – Arnsberg (35 km)
The Benedictine Abbey in Meschede offers carefully selected products. Arrival in Arnsberg with its well-preserved medieval Altstadt.

Day 4: Arnsberg – Fröndenberg (40 km)
Near Wickede, the forested mountains of the Sauerland give way to the Börde landscape along the Haarstrang. Along the Hellweg, you’ll find many old farmsteads that have stood the test of time. Arrival in Fröndenberg, the “City of Chains.”

Day 5: Fröndenberg – Witten (47 km)
The route passes through Schwerte, where a historic grain distillery and the Mustard Museum await. You’ll cycle along the Hengstey and Harkot lakes to Witten.

Day 6: Witten – Essen (approx. 45 km)
At the “Zeche Nachtigall” museum in Muttental, you can venture into a real coal seam. In Hattingen, the old “Henrichshütte” is especially worth seeing. In Essen, a detour to Villa Hügel is well worth it.

Day 7: Essen – Duisburg (35 km)
Between Kettwig and Duisburg, the route passes through the city of Mülheim. There’s plenty of nature here, as only a small portion of the Ruhr riverbank is built up. In Duisburg, where the Ruhr flows into the Rhine, you’ll find Europe’s largest inland port.

Day 8: Individual return trip.

Conclusion: 8 days of cycling and relaxation—someone else takes care of the rest. That’s how wonderful a vacation can be.
