If you're looking for a cool way to refresh yourself during the warm summer months, the natural swimming area is right on the lake.
Not far from the lakefront, the castle ruins and the “Freiheit” monument beckon with their historical charm. The picturesque half-timbered houses of the “Fünf-Giebel-Eck” are particularly charming. Equally worth seeing—and conveniently located just a stone’s throw away—is the town hall, built in 1909, one of the best-preserved representative buildings from the Wilhelmine era in our region.
If you prefer something more active, why not test your climbing skills at the modern climbing park on Harkortberg? From here, you’ll also have a great view of Lake Harkort.
With the Volmarstein Castle Ruins, the historic village center, and the Henriette Davidis Museum, there are even more sights along the RuhrtalRadweg waiting for you to explore.
If this has sparked your interest, the city information office will be happy to advise you on lodging options in Wetter.
