The Ruhr-Eder GeoRadroute runs between the Sauerland and the Waldeck region. The route allows you to explore the regions independently: It leads through the Ruhr and Eder valleys as well as along abandoned railroad tracks. The Edersee, an important reservoir in Germany, is located along the route. The route also passes through the GrenzWelten National Geopark, providing insights into the history of the earth and the development of the landscape. The tour offers the opportunity to experience the geological, historical and cultural development on the eastern edge of the Rothaargebirge from a cyclist's perspective. This promotes a comprehensive perception of the natural and cultural landscape.

Safety guidelines
A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerlandkreis, Märkischer Kreis, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at junctions and hiking signs.
Author Tip
A boat trip across the Edersee is a good alternative. You can also shorten the tour if you wish.
