Wuckenhof

The Wuckenhof is a historic, listed half-timbered house from the early 19th century located in the historic city center of Schwerte. The Cultural Office uses and maintains the ground-floor spaces; this ensures that the building remains an integral part of the city’s cultural life without overshadowing its historic character. The rooms and outdoor area are used for exhibitions, workshops, readings, small conferences, and cultural projects. Events such as “Schwerte Reads – Schwerte Writes” or readings under the chestnut tree utilize the venue as a stage for literature and exchange.

Throughout the year, events such as the “Citizens for Citizens” Christmas market, the wine festival at Wuckenhof, and the “World Street Theater” shape the public perception of the building. Local culture comes to life in front of the half-timbered façade, while the historic character of the site is preserved.
