Sternrodt Adventure Mountain with an All-Weather Mountain Toboggan Run

The Sternrodt Adventure Mountain in Olsberg-Bruchhausen, with its all-weather mountain toboggan run, is a destination offering a wide range of recreational activities. The facility is located at the foot of the Langenberg and offers a ride experience modeled after an Alpine coaster. An expanded playground further enriches the range of activities available at the site. Its geographical setting within the region—near the 843-meter-high Langenberg, the Hochheide, and the striking Bruchhauser Steine—contributes to the site’s appeal.

The infrastructure features high capacity, characterized by a passenger throughput of over 300 per hour, which efficiently minimizes wait times. Ample seating is provided both in the immediate vicinity of the ride and in the surrounding restaurant area, allowing for flexible planning of individual visits and group outings.

The technical design of the Alpin Coaster, manufactured by Wiegand Rasdorf in 2002, features an ascent track of approximately 300 meters and a vertical drop of over 90 meters. The descent extends over approximately 900 meters. Track heights vary between 0.5 and 4 meters; heights of one meter or more are secured with walkways and safety railings. The sleds are designed for use by up to two people and are equipped with a 3-point safety harness for the primary rider and a lap belt for the accompanying passenger. Integrated centrifugal brakes engage at speeds exceeding 40 km/h, supplemented by manual brakes. The maximum allowable total weight per sled is 225 kg. The starting distance between sleds is over 25 meters, and each sled driver controls the descent speed independently.

In the event of extreme weather conditions, the track will be temporarily closed for safety reasons.
