The St. Georg ski jump is a striking landmark of the Winterberg vacation region. The imposing arch of the facility rises 80 meters above the landscape at Herrloh. As a national base of the German Ski Association (DSV), it serves as a year-round training facility for young athletes from the Winterberg Ski Club. The plastic covered hill allows for continuous operation, meaning that German championships and the Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix are regularly held there.
The event arena offers space for up to 2,000 spectators on grandstands and a ground-level area. The athletes' performances can be followed during the competitions held here.
A 22-metre-high viewing platform provides a panoramic view of the surrounding valley. A stop at the Die Schanze restaurant on the sun terrace also offers a view of the low mountain range and the town of Winterberg. More detailed information about the facility is available as part of a guided tour of the ski jump.
