The St. Georg Ski Jump is a striking landmark of the Winterberg vacation region. The facility’s imposing arch rises 80 meters above the landscape at Herrloh. As a national training center for the German Ski Association (DSV), it serves year-round as a training facility for young athletes from the Winterberg Ski Club. The mat-covered ski jump allows for continuous operation, which is why the German Championships and the Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix are regularly held there.
The event arena can accommodate up to 2,000 spectators in the stands and on the ground-level viewing area. During the competitions held here, spectators can watch the athletes in action.
A 22-meter-high observation deck offers a panoramic view of the surrounding valley. A stop at the restaurant “Die Schanze” on the sun terrace also provides a view of the low mountain range and the town of Winterberg. More detailed information about the facility is available during a guided tour of the ski jump.
