The MKM Museum Küppersmühle for Modern Art in Duisburg presents one of the most significant collections of German postwar art. Visitors can experience a comprehensive journey through several decades of artistic creation, spanning from the 1950s to the present. The collection of Sylvia and Ulrich Ströher includes works by major artists such as Georg Baselitz, Jörg Immendorff, and Anselm Kiefer. In addition to painting, photography and sculpture are also represented, including works by Bernd and Hilla Becher as well as sculptures by Norbert Kricke.
The exhibition spans two floors with a total area of 2,500 square meters. In September 2021, an expansion was opened that doubles the exhibition space and, for the first time, makes the historic silos accessible via a viewing platform. This expansion makes it possible to present the diversity of the Ströher Collection in an even more impressive way. The MKM Foundation, founded by Sylvia and Ulrich Ströher, made this project possible and contributes to the cultural enrichment of the region.
