At 830 meters above sea level, the Lennequelle is the highest mountain spring in the Sauerland. The water emerges from a system of rock formations and layers of earth and feeds the river. The design of the spring area includes seating areas that invite you to watch the leisurely flowing water. From this source, the Lenne crosses the Schmallenberg Sauerland and the Olpe district. As the most water-rich and therefore most important tributary of the Ruhr, it flows into Hagen after around 130 kilometers.
