Lake Harkort

Lake Harkort offers a wide range of opportunities for recreation and leisure activities. A biking and hiking trail runs along the northern shore of the lake; it is part of the Ruhrtal Bike Trail and leads from Wetter to Herdecke. This trail is clearly separated between cyclists and pedestrians, making it pleasant to use. The Hagen side of Lake Harkort is less developed, which means it’s not possible to walk all the way around the lake along the shore. On the southern shore, there are campgrounds and tent sites, as well as a small marina. If you venture a short distance from the shore on the Hagen side, you can walk around the lake between Kaisberg and the lake or via Kaisberg. This route is about ten kilometers long and offers a varied landscape. Lake Harkort is thus an attractive destination for nature experiences and athletic activities in the region.
