The Kneipp Adventure Park in Olsberg stretches along the Kneipp Activity Trail and the Ruhr and Gierskopp rivers, incorporating the five pillars of the Kneipp philosophy into its design elements. The route first leads to the Kneipp herb garden and the adjacent orchard meadow, where sensory experiences with medicinal plants and nature take center stage. The next section is the historic Dr. Grüne Kneipp Park, which features a Kneipp facility integrated into a pond, a barefoot trail, and various relaxation areas. Additional spots for relaxation include the OlsbergEck, a scenic promontory in the center between the Ruhr River and the Gierskoppbach stream; the renaturalized Ruhr floodplains outside the city center; and the Lebensgarten at Josefsheim Bigge, which reflects the element of balance in the Kneipp philosophy. The natural water-treading area “Sprung über das Wasser” (Leap Over the Water) on the Gierskoppbach and the arm-baths near the Tourist Information Center highlight the importance of water. The Generations Park, opened in 2015 and focused on the theme of movement, as well as the fitness trail, offer a wide range of opportunities for outdoor physical activity designed for all age groups. The park serves as an accessible green corridor that appeals to visitors of all generations.
