If you want to stay in royal style, you should plan an overnight stay here. The 17th century Wasserschloß consists of the main house and various outbuildings. It is also home to the Michelin-starred Laurushaus restaurant. The building and park are listed buildings and are still owned by the Fürstenberg family. At the beginning of December, the St. Nicholas market invites visitors to go Christmas shopping on the grounds.

From Düsseldorf: A52 towards Essen/Oberhausen to Kreuz Breitscheid, exit Rat.-Breitscheid, 200 m to traffic lights, get into the right-hand lane towards Velbert (B 227); 1.8 km to traffic circle (ESSO and BP), turn left towards E-Kettwig; after 1.3 km turn left towards E-Kettwig, after 3.3 km enter the hotel (observe right of way). From Cologne or Oberhausen: A 3 junction Breitscheid towards Essen, keep right, exit Rat.-Breitscheid, 200 m to traffic lights, get into right-hand lane towards Velbert (B 227); 1.8 km to traffic circle (ESSO and BP), turn left towards E-Kettwig; after 1.3 km turn left towards E-Kettwig, after 3.3, km entrance to hotel (observe right of way). From Essen: Autobahn A52 in the direction of Düsseldorf, exit Essen-Kettwig, turn right in the direction of E-Kettwig; through Kettwig (in the direction of Düsseldorf) over the Ruhr bridge. At the end of the town keep right in the direction of Düsseldorf; after 1.2 km turn right into the hotel.
