Herdecke’s Old Town, located in the Ruhrtal between Lake Hengstey and Lake Harkort, forms a central element of the city’s structure. It encompasses the pedestrian zone, Kampsträter Platz, and the Bachviertel. A wayfinding system allows visitors to easily reach their destination from the banks of the Ruhr. It leads through the historic Bachviertel and along the 1,000-year-old Stiftshügel.
