At the Freischütz Tree Top Adventure Park in Schwerte, your perspective of the forest changes: Moving from tree to tree among platforms, ropes, and obstacles—sometimes balancing, sometimes climbing, and sometimes sliding down zip lines. The twelve courses are named after mountain ranges and range from the easy “Erzgebirge” to the extremely difficult “Himalaya.” This creates a clear progression in which technique, concentration, and body awareness grow step by step. Before you start, there’s a safety briefing and a practice course; while you’re climbing, a continuous belay system—the Saferoller2—ensures your safety throughout your time on the course. Instructors explain the procedures and provide assistance as needed. Right next to the climbing forest is the Freischütz, which offers dining options to round out your visit to the Schwerte Forest.
