A short recreational ride on the RuhrtalRadweg.

The ruhrtalFähre Hardenstein travels between the Herbede lock and the Burgruine Hardenstein in Witten, closing the gap in the route network. There was already a rowboat connection at this point around 1883. The last time skipper Rosendahl brought excursionists across the Ruhr at this point was in the 50s of the last century.

Please note that due to the corona virus and the resulting safety measures, all passengers must keep at least 1.50 meters distance. The operators reserve the right to stop the ferry service if this does not work.

March - May: daily 09.00 - 19.00 hrs.

June - August: daily 9.00 - 21.00 hours

September - October: daily 9.00 - 19.00 hours

Outside the ferry season, please use the Nachtigallbrücke (next to the Zeche Nachtigall) to cross to the other side of the Ruhr, already 1.5 km before. You can find a sketch here.

Capacity: max. 50 persons
