To reproduce the character of the municipality of Ense in one word is not possible. It is located above the RuhrtalRadweg and the Fürstenberg with its castle ruins and the Fürstenberg chapel. Directly on the RuhrtalRadweg is the worth seeing and venerable manor house "Haus Füchten".

The villages between the fields along the Hellweg and Haarstrang and the heights of the Arnberg Forest are all too different. Above the RuhrtalRadweg lies a medieval castle ruin on the Fürstenberg in the municipality of Ense. From the Fürstenberg chapel you can enjoy a wonderful distant view over the Ruhrtal and the city of Arnsberg. Ense is a paradise for gourmets, because along the RuhrtalRadweg numerous farm stores entice you with local specialties. The Niederense museum of local history provides insights into the former living and working culture. In addition, representations of the former Cistercian monastery Himmelpforten can be seen in models, pictures and exhibits from the monastery. From the RuhrtalRadweg you can easily follow the Panoramaweg to the Möhnetalradweg and thus reach the district of Bremen, the geographical and administrative center of Ense. There, inviting gastronomy, the town hall, an e-bike charging station and the two-bay basilica of St. Lambertus from the 12th century await you.
