Always with the Ruhr
The Ruhr rises in the largest winter sports region in NRW and flows into the Rhine in Duisburg - at the largest inland port in the world. On its way, the Ruhr connects cities and landscapes, filling numerous reservoirs along the way. The industrial history of the Ruhrgebiet starts here. In the 19th century, the Ruhr was the busiest river in Europe. Today you can sail, surf, paddle, skate, hike and, above all, cycle wonderfully on and along the Ruhr ...
