Möhne and Ruhr connected by bike

Experience the varied landscape of the Sauerland region - 3 days/2 overnight stays - Length of the tour: approx. 140 km

On this round trip, which takes you from Brilon along the Möhnetal cycle path to Arnsberg and along the Ruhr Valley cycle path back to Brilon, you will experience the varied landscape of the Sauerland region. In addition to beautiful spots, the tour offers lush meadows and green forests -plenty of  nature to enjoy!

1. Day: Brilon-Möhnesee (ca. 50km)

Your start in Brilon city. On the first day, you ride along the Möhnetal cycle path to the southern shore of the Lake Möhne, where the first overnight stay is planned. This stage is approx. 50 kilometres long and takes you along a former railway line, mostly without any ascents. The destination of the first stage is Lake Möhne, one of the largest reservoirs in North Rhine-Westphalia.

2. Day: Möhnesee-Arnsberg (ca. 40 km)

On the second day, we continue along the south bank in the direction of the dam. From here, you have a breathtaking view over the lake before the path continues through the Arnsberg forest to Arnsberg-Neheim. From here, you cycle along part of the

Unbenannt

Ruhr Valley cycle path to Arnsberg, where you spend your second night. Enjoy the historic city centre on a guided tour or explore the narrow alleys and half-timbered houses on your own.

3. Day: Arnsberg-Brilon (ca. 50km)

On the Ruhr Valley cycle path you will ride in the direction of Hochsauerland via Meschede, Bestwig and Olsberg. From now on, it's time to "clench your teeth and pedal", because the ascent between Olsberg and Brilon is a tough one. On

approx. 2.3 km an ascent 6.7% has to be mastered, but then you will be rewarded with the beautiful historic centre of Brilon.
