The Chainsmith Museum on the Ruhr Valley cycle path [Kettenschmiedemuseum am RuhrtalRadweg] shows how the enormous steel "binding agents" were once made by hand. But also the varied landscape, interesting sights to see and a varied cultural program invite you to linger in the "city with a view".

Fröndenberg is charmingly situated among the Ruhr river, fields and the wooded hills of the Haarstrand, about halfway along the Ruhr Valley cycle path. Here not only can you cycle well, but you can find numerous possibilities to enjoy the beauty of nature and wonderful views - from hiking to horse riding to golf. The 800-year-old collegiate church with its important altar of the Virgin Mary and the only chainsmith museum in Germany are particularly valuable in terms of the region's cultural history. Fröndenberg also has a lot to offer in terms of culture: Cabaret, concerts and readings invite to a stimulating evening after a fun-filled day. Especially handy: Like the city centre with its hotels and culinary offering, many of these offers can be reached quickly from the Ruhr Valley cycle path. And for those cyclists who want to treat their tired muscles to something special, Fröndenberg also has several hotels with sauna and wellness offerings.

P.S. Fröndenberg is also an ideal starting point for day trips to the neighbouring Hönnetal, Sauerland, Münsterland and Ruhr Area.
