Rangers have been assisting our cyclists on their tour since spring 2007.

In the Hochsauerland district, in the Arnsberg area, rangers are on the way along the Ruhr Valley cycle path to provide cyclists with help and advice. This support for cycle tourists is organised by Neue Arbeit Arnsberg.

The rangers take care of the needs of the cyclists seven days a week by bicycle. They can thus make a major contribution to the well-being of guests by providing orientation aids when needed, providing small services and ensuring that signage and road conditions are in order.
The tasks of the rangers include the constant monitoring of the route, the repair and replacement of damaged signs, the pruning of disturbing bushes, garbage disposal along the route, assistance with breakdowns and initial information for cyclists. The Ruhr Valley cycle path cyclists are very happy to make use of these services.

In the Ruhr Area, Ruhrtal Rangers also travel the route between Bochum-Dahlhausen and Hagener Hengsteysee daily on the RuhrValley cycle path.

The various tasks can only be performed with good equipment. This includes not only equipment with bicycles, but also weatherproof clothing with a logo, a breakdown kit, first aid kit, garden scissors, garbage bags, detergents, but also information material as well as luggage bags and a mobile phone.
In Arnsberg, the company Heinz Kettler GmbH & Co. KG and cycle shop Wierleuker have become important partners for the pilot project, who not only provided the bicycles but also the clothing for the rangers.
