The meeting point of the mountain bike scene in the Bikepark Winterberg
At the Bikepark Winterberg, there’s an adrenaline rush with addiction potential on the downhill slopes and Flowshore routes. The bike station helps with all your needs relating to the facilities and your own bike, with an infopoint, rentals, sales and workshop all in one. On biking courses, beginners can quickly learn the riding technique with the help of a guide, and try out the routes themselves so that they can later become pros and can fully exploit the wide range of routes on offer.
The largest bike park in Germany is in Winterberg in the Sauerland region. The wide-ranging routes, which are perfectly maintained, are waiting to be experienced. The descents include an iXS Cup downhill route. Thanks to the very varied degrees of difficulty, not only professionals can fully test their skills, but beginners can also learn the techniques they need on the easier routes. Eleven descents are available, with a route of ten kilometres in all, ranging from easy to advanced.
The mixture of professional routes such as downhill descents and Flowshore routes, as well as the training circuit, ensure that riders can enjoy real variety. The combination of practising and fun is the reason why the international mountain bike scene meets here. Just watching is fascinating in itself and makes you want more. Two modern chairlifts offer the necessary convenience, taking bikers and their bikes back uphill again. Dirt hills, wallrides, tables and challenging trails are waiting to be conquered. Once a year, the largest Freeride Festival in Europe, the iXS Dirt Masters, takes place. As well as a large exhibition area with 150 exhibitors, 2,000 participants are cheered on by around 35,000 visitors during the numerous contests. Anyone wanting to try out mountain biking for themselves can take part in one of the biking technique courses. Experienced trainers teach the most important basic skills. In the follow-up courses, existing knowledge is deepened, so that quick progress can be achieved.
The bike station is the starting point for all bikers. As well as selling lift tickets, staff here can help with any questions about all aspects of the bike park. Services also include giving advice, selling accessories and naturally also repair works. Loans of the latest bikes, protectors and helmets also allows bikers to test them out or to spontaneously try out the bike sport. The biker-friendly Panorama Café - Restaurant Lounge with an outdoor terrace, and the snack bar at the bike station, provide food and drink if hunger strikes.
The bike park is located directly on the Erlebnisberg Kappe. Here, there are leisure activities for all the family. These include a rapid descent with the summer toboggan run, dizzying adventures in the climbing forest, incredible views and exciting fun elements on the Panorama Erlebnis Brücke (Panorama Adventure Bridge), and much more. At the Hostel Erlebnisberg Kappe, there is even a low-cost, biker-friendly accommodation option with lockable bike room, bike wash, compressor and drying room, all just 200 meters or so away from the bike park.
